Andrew Blowers – Founder & Chief Executive Officer

The formation of swiftcover.com arose from Andrew's desire to 'shake up the market', update and innovate the way people buy general insurance and to remove the frustrations associated with the outmoded 'telephone method'.

Andrew entered the UK insurance industry in 1989 and quickly covered a variety of senior management roles in sales, marketing and claims from which he built up considerable expertise in the market.

In 1993 Andrew was appointed Managing Director of Inter Group Insurance Services Limited with a brief to establish a profitable UK operation for the Scandinavian parent. By the time the company was bought by Churchill Insurance in 2001, he had exceeded the original brief for profitability, implemented many innovative initiatives and led a successful MBO of the company.

Andrew took up the role of Executive Director with Churchill looking after, variously, its newly formed intermediary division, all call centre operations across the group, all Churchill and Prudential General Insurance marketing, product development and eCommerce functions.
