Nissan has updated the Terrano more times than it might care to remember but it's still good enough to give more expensive rivals a run for their money. While a new version is due out soon, the current II compensates by having a lengthy list of standard equipment - and all for reasonable prices. It's not quite as good on road as it could be but the Terrano feels well-built and made to last. The company's more trendy X-Trail doesn't have its off-road ability either. The 2.7 diesel is a best buy - the newer 3.0 is too thirsty and expensive.
