Project Manager

Location: Teesside
£Attractive - depending on experience

OVERALL PURPOSE OF JOB

To manage projects contributing to the growth and development of swiftcover.com

The role will entail working in a dynamic, fast moving environment at all stages of the development lifecycle, from project inception to delivery and post project review. The project manager will need to work within a framework based on the Dynamic Systems Development Methodology (DSDM) and will need to have good people, organization and communication skills, and be able to ensure seamless liaison between the business areas, other projects managers, Business Analysts, the test team and developers.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Providing the single point of focus between the business areas and all development functions
  • Ensuring the implementation of new projects from inception to final sign -off
  • Regularly updating the Project team and Management Group at weekly meetings
  • Ensuring that any delays or blocks in the project timetable are quickly identified and dealt with .
  • Agreeing project timescales with relevant business areas and assuming full responsibility for delivery to agreed timescales.
  • Negotiating with business heads and project teams to ensure proper priority is placed on work in progress

TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Strong project management skills, with emphasis on working in an agile environment
  • Experience or knowledge of the Dynamic Systems Development Methodology (DSDM)
  • A wide technical background, with knowledge of web based applications

OTHER SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Strong influencing and presentation skills.
  • Ideally some experience of the Financial or the Insurance Industry .
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment .
  • Good administrative and organizational skills .
  • Ability to work on multiple simultaneous tasks and able to work in a team or on your own.
  • Ability to quickly learn new technologies, skills and methodologies .
  • Willingness to expand and develop your existing skills through in-house and / or external training .
