Car insurance: Fake test-takers face prison
Motorists could find that they risk their car insurance policies by becoming involved in fraudulent driving test activity.
According to the Driving Standards Agency (DSA), those who impersonate people taking their tests in order to gain a licence for them could face jail.
Indeed, the body stated that it follows up all reported cases of the crime, often with the help of criminal justice bodies and the police.
The car insurance policies of those involved could be put at risk if they are convicted, as cover firms could consider them a problem on the road.
Andrew Rice, head of fraud & integrity for the DSA, said: "Tackling impersonations is a key priority for the Agency as offenders presents a significant danger to road safety."
This comes after DSA figures published by the Telegraph showed that there were 168 cases of fraudulent driving test activity in Britain in 2007.
