A star footballer has visited a Preston school after it performed well on the road safety front.

player Simon Whaley made the trip to Kennington Primary School after a number of initiatives were taken up by the venue, reports
the Preston Citizen.
Deputy Road Safety Group manager Clare Farrer told the publication that the pupils were welcome
to free football tickets because of the commitment they have shown towards the safety courses.
She commented: "Their
commitment to road safety is excellent and they have been keen to work with the Road Safety Group to help make their pupils
safer on the roads."
Road safety plans are now integral to the curriculum offered at the school by teachers
and governors, Ms Farrer added.
A resident in the Welsh town of Aberystwyth recently called for improved road safety
after a protective barrier on an island was again hit by a passing vehicle.
Those involved in incidents may find
