Money is to be ploughed into a road safety campaign in Overton, Hampshire, with the creation of new traffic measures.
Fresh
support will be opened up at Winchester Street, Kingsclere Road, High Street and London Road, reports this is Hampshire.net.
In
total, £248,000 will be given out by Croudace, which is building a venue at Overton Hill.
Transport planner
for Hampshire county council Tim Robbins stated that a lot of effort will be put into the changes in the months ahead, something
that may help driver's car insurance premiums.
He
told the publication: "The crossing facility on White Hart junction will add a 15 per cent additional delay to traffic,
but will have features such as being body-sensitive. For example, if a button is pressed and no-one is there, the lights won't
change."
Other services to be amended, he added, will be the kerbs, so that "sight lines" are changed,
while anti-skid improvements are also on the agenda.
In related news, drivers in Wellington are to be given new road
tips as part of the Somerset Road Safety Partnership's initiative.
