Motor insurance: 'Many caught' in Scotland safety drive
Fears have been raised in one area of Scotland after a large number of motorists were caught speeding on an accident-prone road, something that could impact on drivers' motor insurance premiums.
The North East Safety Camera Partnership (Nescamp) noted that 200 vehicles were found to be travelling above the speed limit on the A90 between Aberdeen and Dundee over a week-long stretch, reports the Press & Journal.
Such a move came even as the legal limit there was reduced to 50mph three years ago, when fresh road signs were also introduced to try and warn drivers about the changes.
Spokeswoman for Nescamp Julie Milne stated that people have been disregarding the law and not slowing down in the areas they are supposed to.
"It is hoped by highlighting this area again to members of the public they will take note the next time they travel down the A90," she told the paper.
Last week, it was revealed by the Independent Police Complaints Commission that a Lancashire police worker was sacked for providing inaccurate speed camera readings.
