Motor insurance: Fresh cameras to be introduced
New speed cameras are to be introduced at Chester Road in Castle Bromwich, something that advocates have suggested will improve road safety.
Councillor Ted Richards, the boss of Solihull's roads, commented that the devices can be used as a good way to try and save lives and that general safety can be improved, reports the Birmingham Mail.
He suggested that people need to feel safe in the area, "which is why we are determined to crack down on speeding motorists who show a complete disregard for their own safety and that of others".
Mr Richards added that he does not know how effective laser speed guns are, after they were recently introduced into the area by police staff.
Money for the items came from the borough's portion of a West Midlands Road Safety Grant.
Campaigners in Holloway recently urged that speed cameras should be introduced after the latest incident in the area.
