In news that may be of interest to those searching for car
insurance premiums, a student who was caught speeding high above the limit in the north-east has been handed a ban.
Such
a two-month punishment was given to 20-year-old Semir Nezirovic after he was snapped by a speed camera, reports the Daily
Mail.
He had been clocked speeding at 105mph on the Newcastle-upon-Tyne Coast Road, which has a 30mph temporary limit.
Northumbria
Safer Roads Initiative official Ray King noted that he has not seen anything as dangerous as this in the area before.
"There
are temporary lanes marked with cones on the A1058 dual carriageway, which links Newcastle with the coastal towns of Tynemouth,
North Shields, Whitley Bay and Cullercoats, while a bridge is being repaired," he told the publication.
Yet
the punishment given to Mr Nezirovic was slammed by the road safety outfit Brake, which said he should have been treated more
harshly.
This week, poor drivers were targeted as part of a drive from the Neighborhood Action Group in Buckinghamshire.
