Car insurance: Road safety drive in York

A special clampdown on drivers breaking the law was seen in York recently with police targeting Fulford Road, something that may have had an impact on drivers' car insurance.

Operation Impartial was the result of a drive by the Safer Neighbourhood Policing team in an effort to pinpoint dangerous driving, reports the York Press.

Police Constable Jo Brooke stated that many people are placing their lives in danger and others under pressure by not following the law and this is something that could be changed.

"Every day, the roads of York see drivers putting themselves at risk by not wearing seatbelts or by using a mobile phone while driving or, in extreme cases, driving under the influence of drink or drugs," she told the publication.

She added that drivers stopped as part of the scheme out to realise their errors and make sure they obey the regulations in the future.

Children in the Derbyshire area were also treated to another road safety drive recently in an effort to raise awareness about dangers on highways.
