Extra pleas have been made for the introduction of a roundabout on one road in Yorkshire following another accident there,
news that may concern those with car insurance.
A campaign was initially started in 2000 at the junction of the A19 and Main Street in Riccall, but nothing has been
completed yet, reports the York Press.
Clerk to Riccall parish council Lindsey Ryan claimed that many local people are bemused as to why the roundabout will
not be discussed at a forthcoming consultation.
"The county council has put red hatching in the area, which has improved the junction slightly, but it is clearly
inadequate in the longer term," she told the publication.
A more "sensible" approach should be adopted by the county council in the future, she added, which could lower
the risk of any future accidents.
In related news, another road safety drive recently began in York on Fulford Road, with police targeting drivers breaking
the law.
