Tuesday, 13 October 2009

Britain is truly a nation of car lovers - more than two-thirds (67%) of us have had sex in our cars, a survey by online insurer reveals, with almost half (49%) of us having automotive sex more than twice.

In fact our cars are regularly the scene of relationship highs and lows. found that: 58% of us have kissed and made up in a car following an argument; 52% have had a fight with their partner in a car; 65% have used their car as somewhere to go after a row with their partner; 37% have broken up with their partner in a car; whilst 6% have either proposed to someone, or been proposed to, whilst in a car.

Tina Shortle, marketing director of, says: "With Brits spending so much of their time behind the wheel, it's no surprise that many relationships begin, blossom or even end on four wheels. However, as a responsible insurer, would like to point out that drivers should always concentrate on the road ahead otherwise it would invalidate your car insurance cover."'s research found that many of us use our cars as extensions of our homes, indulging in the kind of activity that would usually take place behind closed doors.
