How can I check if my car’s affected?
If you drive a Citroën C3 or DS3, you’ll need to check if your car is affected by the safety recall. You can do this by entering your Vehicle Identification Number (or VIN) on Citroën’s website. You’ll find your VIN on your V5C registration certificate.
My car’s been recalled. What do I do next?
Make an appointment to get the issue fixed by registering on Citroën’s website. Other than to take it to the garage, you must not drive your recalled car again until it’s fixed.
Can I still drive my car if it’s been recalled?
Follow Citroën’s advice and stop driving your car if you know it’s been recalled. If you don’t, you risk putting yourself and others in danger.
Am I still insured to drive my car?
Since it’s not safe to drive recalled cars, your Swiftcover insurance won’t cover you to drive around like you usually would. You’ll be insured to drive to and from the dealership or garage you’ve booked to fix the airbag issue – but that’s it.
You’ll also have third party, fire and theft cover while you wait for your appointment, provided your car isn’t being driven.
Once the issue’s been fixed, your cover will return to normal.
Can I get a courtesy cover while I wait for my appointment?
Unfortunately, we can’t offer you a courtesy car while you wait for your appointment. You may be able to arrange one with Citroën, however.
Can I pause my insurance until my appointment?
We’re still offering you third party cover while you wait for your car to be fixed. As it’s a legal requirement for your car to be insured, to pause or cancel your cover, you’d need to declare your car as SORN, first.
What happens to my claim?
If you’ve already made a claim on your insurance involving your recalled car – but it isn’t due to the airbag issue, your claim will be dealt with as usual. Don’t forget, you can track the progress of your claim in your online account.
