Levels of Cover

There are three types of cover – Buildings insurance, Contents insurance and Buildings & Contents insurance. Each type of cover automatically includes all the most important features of home insurance, everything else is optional, so you won't pay for cover you don't need.

Buildings insurance

Why pay for £1million of cover if you don't need it? Choose enough to cover the cost of re-building your home (not it's market value) and any outbuildings:

  • basic cover starts at £500,000 and can be increased up to £1million
  • covers all the main risks e.g. fire, flood, theft, storm and water damage
  • property owners liability
  • tailor-make your policy with optional cover

Contents insurance

Our basic level of cover represents the value of all the belongings you'd find in an average family home. A single item limit is included for high value items so you don't need to list them all separately:

  • basic cover starts at £50,000 and can be increased up to £75,000
  • covers all the main risks e.g. fire, flood, theft, lightning
  • £5,000 single item limit for high value items (can be increased to £7,500)
  • new for old cover (except for clothes and household linen)
  • tailor-make your policy with optional cover
